Long Acid Wash Vintage Denim Jacket with Recycled Textile Appliqué Imagery
--
This acid wash denim jacket has been carefully chosen from a vintage store in Brooklyn. The design on the back was created using recycled fabric scraps that have been saved from landfill, along with direct embroidery done manually on a hand cranked chainstitch embroidery machine. This embroidery was all done freehand, just by turning the crank in different directions to write the phrase. This phrase is a reminder to keep yourself in the present and to be grateful and happy to be exactly where you are at.

Satisfaction Guaranteed: The mission of Untrend is to encourage intentional shopping. We want you to be in love with something before purchasing it and know for sure that it’s right for you, so we do not accept returns. However, we do understand that fit is a huge factor in loving something and feeling good in it, so we will absolutely work with you on an exchange if you have a fit issue or something you were not expecting regarding the construction of the garment. Every piece starts with an ordinary thrifted garment that we customize and make our own, so any piece available can be recreated with some variation on a different thrifted garment if an exchange is requested. We can also create a custom piece for you if you see something on the site that you love that does not come in your size. Please send Reclypt an email for more details on custom orders.
All items ship USPS with tracking. All garments are ready to ship and will be shipped out 2-3 business days from your purchase date. You will receive tracking via email when the item ships.
Why Upcycle?
Why Upcycle?
Upcycling requires a lot less water and energy than buying new and recycling. It decreases textile waste, pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. Overall, the practice of upcycling clothes lowers the demand for new clothing production, which is extremely wasteful and destructive for people and the planet.

What is "Deadstock"?
Basically, any leftover fabric that is not being used. This can be untouched rolls of fabric, cut up fabric, or damaged fabric.
Nonetheless, it typically sits in a warehouse before it is thrown into landfills where it can take a life time to decompose, emitting harmful greenhouses gases as it does.
Also known by a few names, with “overstock”, “surplus fabric”, and “remnant” being the most common.
